To honor Women’s History Month, we would like to highlight some of our incredible Women Leaders within our organization.

Introducing Kayla Zimmer, the Deputy Director of The Waterfront Project

“I love working for The Waterfront Project because it is a women-led organization that leads with their hearts and have lived experience allowing us to connect with our clients on a more personal level. I started at The Waterfront Project in 2016 as an intern and because I had leaders who believed in me and invested in me, I am now Deputy Director at 31 years old. The Waterfront Project creates a culture of women supporting women and it is such a beautiful thing to be a part of.”

We are so lucky to have you, Kayla! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.

Introducing Carol Sainthilaire, the Executive Director of The Waterfront Project

“I love working at The Waterfront Project because we fight every day to keep families in their home and protect their rights. As a woman of color, it’s empowering to lead and serve in a space that values justice, compassion, and community. I get to work alongside brilliant women who are deeply committed to housing as a human right. Our clients inspire me – they remind me why this work matters and why we must keep pushing for change. At The Waterfront Project, I’ve found purpose, passion, and a sisterhood rooted in advocacy.”

Carol, we see your hard work and determination every day! We cannot thank you enough for your advocacy, support, and strength within the organization and community.

Introducing, Alessandra, the Outreach Coordinator of The Waterfront Project

“The Waterfront Project is led by a team of dedicated women who not only support our mission but also uplift others and our community—one I’m proud to be a part of. It’s inspiring to see these women work so hard, and I’m constantly learning from them.

Working with this organization has given me the opportunity to grow professionally, develop new skills, and contribute to meaningful advocacy. I admire the way The Waterfront Project supports diversity, families, and so many communities while championing the meaning of home. It’s been truly moving to help other organizations and see the creative and personal sides of advocacy come to life.”

Introducing Ana Paz, the Senior Intake Manager of The Waterfront Project

“I love working at The Waterfront Project because it is an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only does it allow me to contribute to something that has a purpose and positive impact on the community, but it also gives me the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. Being involved in such a transformative initiative lead by women is both motivating and inspiring. I can directly see the impact our work does to our community and to the young women we are inspiring.”
