For this month’s Housing Resource of the Month, we’re highlighting Jersey City’s affordable housing resources and its online portal, which brings information about available affordable housing opportunities together in one place.
A Current Affordable Housing Opportunity
Jersey City’s Division of Affordable Housing recently updated its affordable housing postings, including a current two-bedroom apartment at 503–509 Communipaw Avenue (Modera Lofts).
Residents interested in this opportunity can find application information through the city’s affordable housing portal, AffordableHousingJC.com.
The city’s affordable housing system is designed to help residents identify available units and apply directly to individual developments. Eligibility requirements vary by property and may include household income, household size, and other tenant qualifications. In many cases, eligible applicants are entered into a property-specific lottery.

Affordable housing opportunities can be difficult to find, and finding an available unit does not necessarily mean the process ends there.
